Eastlawn Acres Elementary

Joined army before graduation, Served from 1968 till 1971. Germany 2 plus years, 1970-71 in Viet Nam. Received bronze star while in VN. Retired from ADM in Clinton Iowa after 30 years.

My military time was spent in many places. I had basic training in Ft Bliss Texas. Then I was sent to Ft Polk Louisiana. From there I was sent to Schwabish Gmund Germany, from there to Manheim Germany. I received the rank of E5 at that time, I received orders for Viet Nam in 1970. I spent a year in a heavy Artillery unit, the 8th Batallion 4 th artillery near a small village called Dong Ha near the DMZ. We spent about 8 months there, our unit was called up to go over to the Laotian border. Where I received a bronze star, After 4 months they my unit returned back to Dong Ha. From Dong Ha I was sent to Ft Lewis Washington for honorable discharge.
