MEMORIAL:

Cliff "Lee" Wallace, 67, of Fort Dodge passed away Friday, March 16, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Mary's.


Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the Rosehill Cemetery, Rockwell City. Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home is serving the family. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.


Lee is survived by his son Tyler Brown of Perry, FL; brother, Ron Wallace of Sherman Oaks, CA; and sister, Jan Jones of Fort Dodge; special friend, Kelly Bender and her children, Zack Bender and Courtney Bender and her grandson, Colin; several nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Mary (Blair) Wallace; brother, Dale Wallace; nieces, Kayla Jones; Jennifer Wallace; and nephew, Jason Wallace.


Clifford Lee Wallace was born March 17, 1950 in Springfield, Ohio. As a young child, he and his family moved to Fort Dodge. Lee graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1968. He attended Iowa Central Community College and then Northwest Missouri State. After graduation, Lee was employed with Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids. Later he owned and operated "Sports Services of Broomfield" in Broomfield, Colorado. Lee worked many years in the consulting field. He also lived in Grinnell and worked for US Cellular for a period of time. On August 1, 2007, Lee returned to Fort Dodge and worked for the radio station as an account manager. He was instrumental in broadcasting high school and college athletics in Fort Dodge and the surrounding areas. He hosted the "All Sports High School Show" on Monday evenings. He enjoyed all sports, especially car racing at the Newton Speedway. Lee was a proud supporter of the Drake Relays and the Fort Dodge Frontier Days. It was very important to volunteer his time and announce at the Special Olympics.


Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
