Daniel "Dan" was the son of Lawrence Behrend "Larry" and Rose Elizabeth (Jones) Schoon. He had been Baptized into the Christian Faith in the German Lutheran Church in Iowa. He had lived in Northbrook, IL; Florence, KY; Sioux City, IA; Warsaw, KY; and lastly Paso Robles, CA. He was united in marriage to Leslie Sue Kulchin.

Dan is Lovingly Remembered by his wife, Leslie; his mom, Rose Schoon of Cedar Rapids, IA; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Jim Seiwald of Robins, IA; three nieces, Jennifer Noyes, Bethany Noyes, and Laura Seiwald; aunts, Janice "Jan" (Leroy) Maag, and Alice Johnson; and several cousins, family members, and friends. He joins in Heaven his father, Lawrence Behrend. "Larry" Schoon; his grandparents, Bert and Jennie Schoon, and Mr. and Mrs. Jones; his aunts and uncles, Richard "Dick" and Dolores Hacker, Donald Schoon, Dorothy Rennie, and many other Loved Ones.
