Sharon Wendell, 65, of Fort Dodge, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Trinity Regional Medical Center after a long illness with cancer.
Services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.
Sharon Moore, the daughter of Rex and Geraldine Moore was born January 28, 1950 in Fort Dodge. She attended school in Fort Dodge graduating from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1968 and later graduated from Bernel College of Cosmetology. Sharon was united in marriage to Danny Wendell, on January 25, 1969, the couple later divorced. She was employed with Sheer Magic and Just Debs Beauty Salon. But Sharon’s loved working as a care giver at Friendship Haven. She retired after 21 years due to her ill health. Sharon also babysat all of her grandchildren. Sharon loved cooking and baking for family and friends. She also loved camping with family. Sharon will be missed by family and all who knew her.
Sharon is survived by daughters, Dawn (Trevor) Heistand of Fort Dodge, Robin (Rich) Jud of Knierim, Iowa, and Tiffany (Randy) Bakken of Ottosen, Iowa; 13 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. She is also survived by her sister, Patty (Harold) Powell and her brothers, Rex Moore II and Dan (Cathy) Moore all of Fort Dodge.
She is preceded in death by her son, Danny Wendell; her parents Rex and Geraldine Moore, and a brother, Billy Moore.
