Linda Christene (Macken) Shelgren was born Dec. 30, 1949, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Lois (Martin) Macken. As a young girl, Linda attended school in Fort Dodge and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School.

In February 1969, Linda was united in marriage to Steven Anderson in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and were blessed with two children, Troy and Teresa. While in Fort Dodge, Linda owned and operated Anderson Bakery out of her home, providing baked goods to area restaurants.

In 1987, Linda and her family moved to Fairmont, Minn. She began her employment with Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center working as the dietary manager. In December 2006, Linda was united in marriage to Loren Shelgren and together the couple made their home in Fairmont.

Linda loved cooking and baking and was called upon for many of her baked goods from bread to pastries. She enjoyed traveling and especially treasured her trips to Europe and to the Middle East. One of her favorite trips was a cruise to Egypt in 2009. Her love of food was evident with her gardening and canning, making homemade tomato sauce and pickles. She will be greatly missed by those that loved her and called her friend.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Loren Shelgren; mother, Lois Macken; son, Troy Anderson and his wife, Alexzandra; daughter, Teresa Anderson; grandchildren, William Anderson and Abigail Anderson; brother, Dean Macken; Loren's children, Diane Shelgren and her husband, George Loomis and David Shelgren and his wife, Monica and their children; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, Robert Macken.
