Obituary, The Columbia Daily Tribune, December 24, 2002: Charles "Chuck" M. Anderson, 53, of Hallsville died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at the Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at the St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 914 West Blvd. S., with the Rev. Paul Moessner and the Rev. Julia Will officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, at Nilson Funeral Home, 5611 St. Charles Road. Mr. Anderson was born July 1, 1949, in Fort Dodge. He married Colette Fitzgerald on Dec. 17, 1971, in Clare, Iowa, and she survives. He graduated from Fort Dodge High School in 1968. He attended Iowa State University and Iowa Central Community College. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the U.S.S. Will Rogers Nuclear Submarine. He moved to Hallsville in 1977 with his wife. He worked at the University of Missouri-Columbia as the lead senior reactor operator. He was a member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, and served as its financial secretary for 11 years. Survivors also include a son, Tony Anderson of Hallsville; two daughters, Jennifer Myers of Olathe, Kan., and Nicole Robinette of Richmond, Va.; his mother, Agnes Anderson of Fort Dodge, Iowa; a brother, Paul Anderson of Somers, Iowa; a sister, Shirley Anderson of Fort Dodge; and a grandson. He was preceded in death by his father, Emil Anderson; and two sisters, Phyllis Olmstead and Mary Elaine Anderson. Memorials are suggested to a scholarship fund to be established at Hallsville High School or to the St. Andrews Lutheran Church, 904 West Blvd. S., Columbia, Mo., 65201. |
