Kathy Rae Peterson, 62, of Fort Dodge, died Thursday, June 9, 2011 at her home after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Tuesday at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Gary Snook officiating. Burial will be in the North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.

Kathy is survived by her two children, Shannon (Michael) Delle of Fort Dodge and Trevor (Nicole Darland) Peterson of Eagle Grove; four grandchildren, Brayden, Aiden, Ethan, and Jewel. She is also survived by her five siblings, Lonny (Gilbert) Hartig of Fort Dodge, Susan (Rick) Krug of Fort Dodge, Dean Anderson of Fort Dodge, Debbie (Tim) Michalski of Clare, and Mindy Anderson of Fort Dodge. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Amber Peterson in 2004; a sister, Linda Tracy; and her parents.

Kathy Rae Anderson, the daughter of Einar and Juanita (Stufflebean) Anderson, was born December 2, 1948 in Fort Dodge and graduated from Fort Dodge High School in 1968

On November 22, 1968, Kathy married James Peterson and the couple later divorced. Kathy worked as a Dental Lab Technician for 30 years retiring from Mid Iowa Dental Arts because her ill health. She totally devoted her life to her children and her grandchildren. Her family was her life. Kathy loved to sing along with the songs on the radio with her kids.
