MEMORIAL:

Obituary courtest of Laufersweiler Funeral Home.

Steve O. Cabbell, 48, died February 10, 1997 at the V.A. Hospital in Des Moines, following a lengthy illness with cancer.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at Coppin Chapel with Rev. William Perkins, pastor of Coppin Chapel A.M.E., officiating.  Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery with military rites presented by V.F.W. Post #1856.  A visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday until the time of service at the church.  Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home is serving the family.

Steve is survived by his family, Bessie Cabbell of Fort Dodge; Orlando Cabbell of Fort Madison; Stephano Cabbell of Virginia; Jeremy Kredlow of Storm Lake; Kevin Cabbell of Omaha; Tracy Cabbell of Omaha, NE; Lennett Cabbell of Omaha, NE; Lamere Love of Minneapolis, MN; Jackie Love of Fort Dodge; nine grandchildren; Eddie of ElReno, OK; and Tonya Cabbell of Omaha.

He was preceded in death by his father, Orphieus Cabbell; and brother, Romney.

Steve O. Cabbell was born February 18, 1948 in Fort Dodge and attended schools in Fort Dodge.  He graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School.  Following his education, Steve entered the U.S. Navy, serving in Vietnam.   After he received his Honorable Discharge, he returned to Fort Dodge and became employed with Hormel company.  He later became an employee for Fridgedare in Webster City until he retired due to ill health.  He was also a member of Masonic Lodge.
