Craig S. Tinker was born on March 27, 1950, in Rapid City, SD. As a young child Craig moved with his family to Altus, OK; Chaumont, France; Biloxi, MS; Sherman, TX; and finally Fort Dodge, when his father retired from the U.S. Air Force. He attended schools here and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1968. On June 29, 1973, he was united in marriage to Kathy Nekvinda at Assembly of God Church. The couple made their home in Fort Dodge, where Craig was employed with Fletcher Cabinets and later McCarville Cabinets. He then attended Iowa Lakes Community College in Emmetsburg, earning his certificate in retail sales and marketing. In 1977, he went to work for the A.E.A. as a van driver and retired as a field technician in 2003, due to his failing health. Craig was known for his wood working skills, his many stories, quick wit, and sense of humor. He had a passion for collecting toy tractors, working with computers, and enjoyed doing home improvement projects.
