MEMORIAL:

Roxanne R. Hanson, 67, of Fort Dodge passed away Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November 8th, in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 AM a Mass of Christian Burial will be at Corpus Christi Church, Fort Dodge with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating. Burial will be at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery near Mason City. A visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, Rosary at 4:00 PM, Vigil Prayer Service at 7:00 PM all at Laufersweiler Funeral Home.

Roxanne is survived by her daughter, Tanya Hanson of Manchester; son, Donald Hanson, Jr. of Forest City; daughter, Theresa Hanson of Winfield; grandchildren, Tory Hanson, Tyler Hanson, Samantha Whitaker, Hunter and Matthew Jacobs; great granddaughter due any day; her mother, Mary (Heun) Rogers of Fort Dodge; sister, Diane Pierce (Roy) of K.C.; brother, Rick Rogers (Susie) of Barnum; sister, Becky Vanderpool (Randy) of Fort Dodge; and sister, Anne Patterson (Rob) of Fort Dodge.

She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Rogers and husband, Donald L. Hanson in 1996.

Roxanne Rae Rogers was born August 8, 1950 in Fort Dodge. She was raised and educated in Fort Dodge and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1968. On July 22, 1972, Roxanne was united in marriage to Donald L. Hanson in Fort Dodge. The couple established their home in Clarion. Roxanne worked as a Registered Nurse in the Clarion Hospital for a number of years. In 1976, the couple moved to Meservey and then relocated to Garner in 1977. Roxanne worked for Mercy Medical Center of Northern Iowa and Hospice in Mason City for 30 plus years. Donald passed away in 1996 and Roxanne moved to Mason City until returning to Fort Dodge in 2014. For over 20 years, she enjoyed volunteering for the Mason City Community School District where she worked with first, second and third graders students. She was a member of Corpus Christi Church.

My condolences to Roxanne’s family. She and I were friends in school, I remember her being a very kind and friendly soul. Sending prayers for God’s peace and comfort to surround them.Sincerely, Pam Scott Studebaker
