MaryAnn Haase, 58, of Fort Dodge, died June 23, 2008 at her home.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Gunderson Funeral Chapel and 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church with the Rev. Edward Girres celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be held in Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 - 8 p.m. Wednesday with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

MaryAnn Birocci, the daughter of Libero and Helen (Kolacia) Birocci, was born May 12, 1950 in Fort Dodge. She was a 1968 graduate of Fort Dodge Senior High and 1971 graduate of Iowa Methodist School of Nursing. MaryAnn worked as a nurse in critical care at Iowa Methodist in Des Moines, Allen Memorial in Waterloo and the former Lutheran Hospital in Fort Dodge before becoming a clinical nursing instructor at ICCC. She was united in marriage to Howard Haase on September 19, 1971. The couple owned and operated Haase Photography in Fort Dodge until retirement in 2003. MaryAnn most recently worked at the ISU/ Webster County Extension.

MaryAnn was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, often serving as a lector and Eucharistic minister. She was a member of Chapter AT/ Tri T Sorority and St. Olaf Bell Choir. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, music, antiquing, and reading.

Survivors include her husband Howard of Fort Dodge; her sons Gary Haase (Robin) of New York City, NY and James Haase of Los Angeles, CA; her mother Helen Birocci of Fort Dodge, her siblings Paul (Linda) Birocci of Des Moines, Randy (Sue) Birocci of Hinton, and Jeanne (John) Raine of Humboldt; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Libero Birocci in 1983.

In lieu of flowers, a 4-H scholarship fund has been established and memorials may directed to the family.
